2-Meter Net Report July 2016

Our 2 meter net meeting EVERY Wednesday at 8:00 PM (local time) on the clubs repeater system network. These are good training ground for possible emergency situations, as well as helping the new hams in the area to have an easy way to get use to “talking on the radio”.

If you have an interest in joining the Net Control stations please call me (432/837-2257) or holler at me during the Wednesday evening net (either before or after the net).

The month of July had four (4) Wednesdays in it and it went this way:

DATE CHECK-INS NET CONTROL STATION
JULY 6       11                W5RHN
JULY 13      17               N5BBJ – fill-in for KF5KMA
JULY 20     17               KA5PVB
JULY 27     15               KG5BMK

I realize that summers are busy for everyone BUT if you don’t have the time to check-in to the net and stick around for the round-table discussion, take a minute of your time and check-in as an “in-and-out” where you’re there for the head count but don’t have the time to participate. All participation is much appreciated and encouraged.

73’s and hope to talk to you soon.

2-Meter Net Report May 2016

Our 2 meter net – Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM, had a total of 75 check-ins spread over the 4 week period.
May 4 – N5BBJ was NCS with 23 check-ins
May 11 – W5RHN was NCS with 18 check-ins
May 18 – KF5KMA was NCS with 18 check-ins
May 25 – KA5PVB (filling in for KB5R) was NCS with 16 check-ins
With the close of May Rusty-KB5R is taking a 1/2 year sabbatical from NCS duties as his plate is VERY full and he doesn’t feel he has the time to do justice to the NCS duties as assigned.
On a very happy note we welcome into the NCS position two (2) new hams as follows:
KG5BMK – Chuck Corrao who with his wife Kathy – KG5CGR live on Terlingua Ranch in South County.
KG5LMG – Marvin Voiers who is a resident of the Davis Mountain Resort in Jeff Davis County
Please make these new members feel at home and comfortable in their new endeavors. They are scheduled to have their FIRST turn as NCS on June 8th and 15th respectively. Please offer any assistance they might need to get off to a smooth start.
Thanks again to all of our NCS folks for ALL of your efforts on behalf of the BBARC.
